Ms. Hayton specializes in criminal defense and complex litigation, with an emphasis on trial practice. As a former prosecutor, she handles a broad range of criminal cases, from general felonies and misdemeanors to the more complex white collar cases, including insurance fraud, tax fraud and public integrity matters. She represents clients charged with criminal offenses in state and federal court and provides guidance to individuals and entities during regulatory investigations and grand jury proceedings. Ms. Hayton has extensive trial experience, has conducted countless preliminary hearings, and has presented cases to the criminal grand jury. During her tenure as a prosecutor, Ms. Hayton received recognition for her outstanding achievements in trial and her dedication to victims of crime.
Ms. Hayton is also an experienced civil litigator, representing clients in both state and federal court actions as well as regulatory proceedings before the SEC, NASD and CFTC. Prior to becoming a prosecutor, Ms. Hayton was an associate at a national law firm where she practiced securities and complex business litigation.
Ms. Hayton is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in California, and is also admitted to the United States Tax Court.
